Bulverde Basketball League (BBL) is a grassroots youth program built to serve local families in Bulverde and Spring Branch with a high-quality, competitive basketball experience.

We’re committed to developing strong fundamentals, promoting fair and competitive play, and helping young athletes prepare for success at the middle school and high school levels.

Founded in March 2025, Bulverde Basketball League (BBL) is a grassroots league born out of the community, created to meet the local need for a skill-focused, competitive basketball program in Bulverde and Spring Branch, TX.

We set out to build an organized league where kids can develop, compete, and thrive without having to leave their hometown.

We offer divisions for Kindergarten through 12th Grade and welcome players of all backgrounds and abilities. Whether you’re new to the game or preparing for school tryouts, BBL delivers a positive, supportive environment for athletes, coaches, and families alike.

We emphasize:

• Fundamental skill development
• Fair and competitive play
• Preparation for middle school and high school basketball
• A community-first approach where every player matters

We’re just getting started. In the coming seasons, BBL will expand to include:

• Drills & Skills: A Basketball Clinic Program offering small-group skills training
• Bring your own team style tournaments
• Adult Leagues

Bulverde Competitive Basketball League (BBL) was founded by Kevin Butler, a passionate coach and dad of three, with a vision to bring something meaningful to the Bulverde/Spring Branch community.

After years of organizing and leading youth and adult basketball programs across the country, Kevin saw a gap locally and an opportunity to create a true grassroots league. Not something built from the top down, but something grown within the community, for the community.

BBL was created to give local players a place to develop, compete, and grow together. The focus is simple: strong fundamentals, real competition, and an environment that builds confidence, character, and love for the game.

From day one, the mission has been clear: develop players, support families, and prepare athletes for the next level, all while keeping the game fun and accessible to everyone.

Built on local support, real experience, and a genuine passion for basketball, BBL is a grassroots league at its core, where the community drives the culture, and every player matters.

At Bulverde Basketball League, we believe the court is more than just a place to play—it’s a training ground for leadership, confidence, and character.

Many of our coaches are former and current players, current school staff, or community members who simply love the game and want to make a difference. Alongside supervisors and incredible volunteers, they help us build something special for kids across Bulverde, Spring Branch, and the surrounding area.
